I am so impressed with the staff and quality of service at the Dermatology & Laser Center of Charleston. Having your face on screen in front of millions of people makes you be even more selective about a Dermatology Center. And I can honestly say that Dr. Schlesinger and his staff are not only friendly but also very knowledgeable and very good at what they do!
I know I found the right place in Charleston and now I see why people come from all over to see Dr. Schlesinger!

The level of care and service in this office is outstanding! I feel like part of the family. Dr. Schlesinger treated me with kindness and compassion. Lori has given me a number of laser treatments which produced awesome results! Danyiel gives a really terrific, relaxing massage. The whole office is a great bunch of people who are truly committed to meeting my personal needs. One friend even asked another friend if I had “secretly” had plastic surgery. My skin looks and feels younger, and I am having fewer and fewer breakouts! Finally, after 35 years of battling blemishes! Before having the treatment I must admit that I was somewhat skeptical. However, after the first treatment there was noticeable change, for the better. Needless to say, at the end of my treatments results were unbelievable! My family was amazed and I must admit that I was as well. What these treatments did for my self esteem is beyond measure. My husband, John R. Suttle, lost all of his hair in under 2 months due to alopecia areata. I noticed this on September 25, 2008 as a patch the size of a quarter developed above his left ear. I'm a cosmetologist and am fully aware of skin, hair and nail issues when I see them on clients. I've had numerous clients over the years who have suffered from varying degrees of alopecia. Some are still struggling with their permanent hair loss.
I first hammered out the Mayo Clinic's website on alopecia, and just as expected, my observation was correct. I told John to not worry, I'd get him into our doctor and then to my dermatologist, Dr. Schlesinger. John saw our doctor on that next day, Friday, for a full work up and physical. He was booked to see Dr. Schlesinger on Wednesday and followed up with his lab results which showed nothing to explain the alopecia.
Hello, my name is Hallie Friar from Florence, South Carolina. I struggled with p. acne from the seventh grade until the middle of my junior year in high school.
I was treated by another dermatologist for over a year and I tried numerous topical creams, hormone therapy, health food store acne supplements, diet modifications, and Proactive to no avail. The Hair on my back was a pain in my neck!
Working and relaxing on boats has been a passion of mine for many years. I simply hated the hair on my back and shoulders. I came to the Dermatology and Laser Center of Charleston for laser hair removal. The staff was great and I thought, “This is going to be an awesome experience”. I was right! All they asked was that I shave before my appointment and that I needed to be sure and arrive on time. My schedule was hectic but Lori was glad to accommodate early morning appointments. Do yourself a favor and give them a call – it was a wise choice on my part!

My niece, Nakia, mentioned that her office, Dermatology and Laser Center of Charleston, was having an Open House and looking for a male candidate that would be willing to allow them to demonstrate laser hair removal for a Men’s Night Event. I very excitedly volunteered!
I was asked to arrive with my back and shoulders clean shaven. Lori, their certified laser tech, then applied a topical numbing cream and treated me using one of the top, state-of-the-art lasers, the Candela Laser. Over the next six months, I returned once a month with results improving each time. Lori herself was very pleasantly surprised when I told her I wasn't shaving or anything else in between visits!
The entire staff is truly professional, extremely nice and gave me the results I wanted both efficiently and effectively.

John was losing clumps of hair upon getting into the shower. I began a personal photo journal of John's hair loss. It was hard for him to allow me to do this but he understood why so he conceded. I've never published those photos and have only shared some with our mothers.
