Ginger Greene

Practice Administrator

Ginger has been with Dr. Schlesinger since he opened his Charleston practice in 2005. She has worked in the medical field for over 20 years and has a tremendous amount of accounting and finance experience. Graduating from the University of Florida in the mid 70s with a Bachelor of Arts in English, she relocated to the low country and graduated from the College of Charleston in 1991. Earning a double major, she simultaneously completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Responsible for every aspect of the practice operations, she combines her expertise with her creative talents to handle most of the marketing and practice development as well.

Having spent most of her life in the outdoors, she takes pride in the work Dr. Schlesinger and his staff have done to rejuvenate her skin and will often share stories about the different procedures she has had done with patients. Her spare time is spent with her boyfriend, Patrick, his two daughters- Lauren and Izzy and their two dogs, Skyy and Morgan. Sharing a love of music and adventure, they can often be spotted enjoying musical concerts and events, watching the Braves or the Florida Gators as well as traveling to visit family and friends. Ginger often says “life is full of wise choices” and joining the DLCC team was one of her wisest!

Kara O'Neil

Director of Practice Development

Kara O'Neil has recently joined the DLCC staff as Director of Practice Development. Kara graduated from the College of Charleston in 2003 and went on to receive her Masters in Business Administration from The Citadel. She most recently worked as an Account Executive at the Charleston City Paper and is honored that one of her favorite clients entrusted her with their public image.

Kara's experience is in orthodontic marketing, focusing on patient and practice relationships. She believes that our patients and referring physicians are our most valuable resource in spreading the word about Dermatology and Laser Center's treatments and services. Dermatology and Laser Center of Charleston has a philosophy of constant growth and improvement and we cannot do that without feedback. Please do not hesitate to contact her if you have any suggestions regarding our practice.

In her free time, Kara is an arts advocate and occasional actress with PURE Theatre. She can be found in West Ashley, riding bikes with her best friend and fiance Colby, and playing with their dogs Atlas and Elvis.

Nakia Postell

Administrative Assistant at Patient Registration

Nakia has lived in Charleston for 23 years and by “squatter’s rights” has earned the title of Charlestonian.  Working in the medical field for 15 years, she brings her experience and expertise to the DLCC team. Happily married to her husband, Daniel, they have a son, Cole, and a daughter, Hannah. In her off time, Nakia enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite vacation spot “to go and visit is Disney World”. Most of the time outside of work Nakia is with her kids, although occasionally she has been spotted at the bowling alley or simply enjoying a night off.

Julie Meinster

Administrative Assistant

Julie was born and raised in Charleston but enjoys traveling to almost anywhere, most recently with her boyfriend, Danny, to Paris and London. Her next trip is a cruise with family and friends to Key West, Mexico and Belize. An avid movie buff, going to the theatre is a favorite way to spend some of her free time. She enjoys watching sports events, listening to music and playing with her two dogs, Duke and Jasper. Before joining the Dermatology and Laser Center, Julie attended Trident Tech studying the field of hospitality and tourism and brings her experience in customer service to our patients.

Leah Duke

Administrative/Pharmacy Assistant

Leah joined the DLCC Staff at the end of March 2009 and we consider her a great asset to our team. Born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, she attended Augusta State University before her relocation to Charleston. She joins Becky as a Georgia Bulldogs fan. Quick witted with a terrific smile, Leah quickly got dubbed “The Form Police” as she began auditing forms as part of her daily routine. In addition, you can often count on being greeted by her at the check- out or pharmacy counter throughout the day. Leah enjoys spending time near the water and can often be found at the beach or relaxing on the boat. (You know she uses good sun sense so look for her big Southern style white hat!) Leah spends much of her free time with friends and family traveling to Augusta every chance she gets to spend some quality time with them as well as with her newborn niece Aubrey. No matter whether it is in Augusta or Charleston, you can bet Leah can be found with her boyfriend, David and his dog, Goose.

Callie R. Powell

Insurance Specialist

Callie is a true bred Charlestonian and enjoys life in the low country. Insurance billing, processing and trouble shooting have been her forte for several years working in this field since 2001. She joined DLCC fulltime in 2006 and has been instrumental in the implementation of our electronic billing and electronic remittances. Callie and her high school best friend, Ben Powell, will be married on August 8th of this year and will reside here in Charleston. Both she and Ben are great advocates of pet rescue and fostering, and enjoy time with their four dogs, TJ, Hampton, Stuart and Buttercup. Callie can often be found out on the water either boating, crabbing, fishing or scavenging oyster beds with family and friends.

April Galyen

Clinical Medical Assistant

Although not a Charlestonian by birth, April was raised in Charleston and has enjoyed living here almost her entire life. Joining DLCC two and a half years ago, she was looking for a new path to put her professional and organizational skills to use. With a strong accounting background and knowing the importance of attention to detail, April was a perfect match for our clinical area. April spends her spare time enjoying a new home with Sonny, and their two beagle pups, Macy and Ella. Both motorcycle enthusiasts, they are often seen riding about on their Harley or spending time with family, friends and neighbors.

Michele Williams

Clinical Medical Assistant

Michele recently joined the DLCC team bringing 18 years of professional experience, both clinically and aministratively. As a familiar face here on the hospital campus, she has spent the last 7 years working for an OB/GYN practice. Her compassion and professional demeanor shine in our clinical area. Attending Trident Technical College here in the lowcountry, she received a Certificate of Completion in Medical Coding but prefers the clinical side of the practice. Michele spends much of her spare time with her husband Todd enjoying concerts, Nascar races and relaxing at the beach. She keeps herself busy and enjoys a great sense of wit and fun! As a mother of two, she appreciates her “fun time” and likes to do a little shopping or “just hanging out with friends”.

Angela Ezard

Clinical Medical Assistant

Angela joined the DLCC staff in June of 2009. She and her husband, Ian, were transferred to Charleston from North East England a year ago. Working in the medical field for twenty four years, she started in the field of dentistry and transitioned into dermatology. Traveling back to England to visit family and friends is always a high point for Angela and Ian. They also enjoy spending their free time together on their boat and traveling all over the state of SC to visit the various sites as well as touring our beautiful city. They both enjoy MOTOGP racing, hanging with friends, working in their garden and relaxing at the beach in Charleston’s beautiful weather. Angela works as Becky’s assistant both with her patients and in the Clinical Studies Program.
