Any unopened product or any product that has caused an allergic reaction (documented by a physician) can be returned to DLCC. No returns on make-up products for any reason. All products, regardless of the reason for return, must be returned within 30 days of purchase.
We ask that you please understand that our appointment times are scheduled to allow us to take care of each individual patient's needs during their scheduled visit. Appointments with Dr. Schlesinger and the provider staff are in high demand, so we place a high value on advance notice from our patients who are unable to keep their scheduled appointments. We ask that you please provide 48 hours notice if you are not going to be able to keep your appointment. In addition, patients need to arrive on time for their scheduled appointments. If necessary, if a patient arrives greater than fifteen minutes late, there is higher probability that the scheduled appointment will have to be made on an alternative day.
In an effort to eliminate and decrease unnecessary expenditures and to contain our fees, we have implemented a No Show/Cancellation Policy for all of our patients, medical, surgical and cosmetic. Please be advised that you are allowed one no-show or same day cancellation appointment without penalty. It is referred to as your "Oops Appointment" because we are understanding and try to accommodate unexpected events. We will gladly reschedule this appointment without any charge. On your second no-show or same day cancellation, you will be charged a $25.00 fee that must be paid prior to making additional appointments. Upon your third no-show or same day cancellation, we unfortunately reserve the right to terminate the patient-doctor relationship.

We offer complimentary cosmetic consults for all patients interested in MediSpa or Cosmetic services.
If you choose to cancel your consultation appointment, we ask that you please contact us at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time so that we may make the best use of our time to serve the needs of all patients. Should you leave a message with our after-hours answering service, please make certain your cancellation is verified with one of our schedulers. This policy also applies to all future cosmetic and spa services appointments.
For your convenience and our billing records, should you pay for any Cosmetic or MediSpa service by debit or credit card, we will do our best to keep your card number on file for any such charges that may arise.

On your appointment day, we ask that you please arrive fifteen minutes prior to your scheduled time to complete our new patient paperwork. In general, we mail a copy of the new patient paperwork to you and a printable version of our paperwork is also available to you on our web site and can be completed and submitted electronically if you prefer. You can expedite your appointment time by completing your new patient paperwork in advance and faxing it to us at 843.556.8850. Please be sure to bring a copy of your insurance card, identification card, and a list of medications you are currently taking with you to your appointment. For your protection against identity fraud, we will take a picture of you, upon your arrival, which will be attached to your electronic medical record (EMR). Dermatology & Laser Center of Charleston records your information during your examination and attaches it directly to your customized, individual EMR. No paper charts exist at our office for daily use. If necessary, we can generate a copy of your records if you need them and the HIPAA guidelines for obtaining them are met. Our office prides ourselves in setting the standard for HIPAA compliance.
Dr. Schlesinger and the other providers in our office, Lori (Certified Laser Tech/MediSpa Manager) and Danyiel (Certified Massage Therapist and Esthetician), are dedicated to providing the highest level of care to each patient. For this reason, you may experience a minimal wait-time on your appointment day. We offer an abundance of reading materials, wireless internet service, and many informational videos in our reception area. You may also wish to bring a book. If you have a time-sensitive schedule, please be sure to call ahead to check the daily clinic scheduling flow. Every member of our staff strives to insure an easy patient flow however we ask that you do remember in our medical and surgical practice emergencies due arise. Due diligence is always taken into consideration and we want to guarantee a productive and pleasant experience. Should you feel that there is an unnecessary delay or longer wait time than you feel reasonable, please ask to speak to our practice manager.
